I am still trying to recover from last week.  Last Tuesday, the weatherman predicted a slight dusting of snow. A slight dusting turned into two inches of snow over a glaze of ice. My employer closed at 11:00 am.  It took me about four hours to go just a few miles. I decided to go back to work. When I got back, my boss started organizing volunteers to go to the kitchen of the executive dining room to look for food to serve to those stranded in our building. I had experience with a meat slicer, so I sliced ham and turkey for sandwiches. We found bread, salad fixings, chips and beverages. We put everything out in the dining room. We served over 300 people who were stranded. Everyone seemed to appreciate it. The next day we served breakfast and dinner. I was not able to go home until Thursday at noon. I had to wear the same dress and sweater for 2 1/2 days.  It was not fun . I know that folks up north have worse storms, but the south is not prepared. There are also mountains and bridges that we have to navigate.

On a happier note, I was able to go shopping a few weeks ago, I bought a pair of navy Revas, plus some cute jewelry at Kate Spade. I am now searching for some cute blouses to wear to work.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
