This morning when I got up, I took my measurements. They were not as bad as I had expected, but they were still bad. I am determined that I am going to lose my excess weight. I stuck to the plan, and when I got home I exercised along with an online Jack Lalanne video. The exercises were not that difficult, but I figure that I should take small steps. He exercises your body from the tip of your toe to the top of your head. Maybe over time, it will help tone.

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Today has been a busy day.

Bo woke me up at 6:05 to go outside. When we came back in, I decided that I would go back to bed. I was able to sleep in until 7:30.

My mother and I went to the Chili Challenge. The proceeds are donated to Habitat for Humanity. I bid $30 on a large framed hunt print that was a part of the silent auction. I kept watching it and no one else bid on it. As I started to leave, I noticed that someone had bid $60, so I bid $65. That was my final bid. It is probably worth a whole lot more than that, but I didn't need to spend the money. About 4:00, the phone rang. I got the print. My mother is going to pick it up for me on Monday. After the Chili Challenge, we went to look at mattresses with no success. Then we went grocery shopping. I vowed to stock up on canned goods and other non-perishables. I also bought a few things for which I had coupons.

After we got home and relaxed for awhile, we went to eat dinner. Nothing fancy. Then it was back home. We watched Hawaii Five-O and Are You Being Served? Another hot time in the old town tonight. HA!

Tomorrow, I'm going to have to watch the weather. They are predicting bad storms tomorrow night and Monday. It doesn't look like they will be here until Monday, but it doesn't hurt to keep an eye out just in case they are faster moving than predicted.

My weight has got out of hand. Monday will be my first day on South Beach. I have had success with South Beach in the past and thought I would try it again. Hopefully in a few weeks, I will be able to tell a difference in my clothes. Wish me luck.

I hope everyone has a good Sunday.

I had a great time in Biloxi. I didn't have high expectations so that I would not be disappointed. BFF MAB and I got there about 2:00 Saturday afternoon. We ate a delicious late lunch of fried shrimp and french fries. We then cruised Beach Blvd. We drove to Pass Christian and back. We rode around Pass Christian admiring the beautiful homes. It was sad to see all of the vacant lots. The structures that were once there were destroyed by Katrina.

Sunday we had breakfast at the Beau Rivage, did a few minutes of gambling and then hit the outlets. While at the outlets, I bought a yellow/white striped OCBD at Polo Ralph Lauren, argyle socks at Bass, camisoles at J. Crew and a few kitchen gadgets at Kitchen Collection. That evening, we went to IP Casino for cheeseburgers. After we ate, we visited the casino. When we lost as much as we could stand, we left.

Monday, we went to Beauvoir, Jefferson Davis' last home. We laughed that we celebrated Presidents' Day by visiting the home of the only President of the Confederacy. Then we headed to Ocean Springs to do some shopping. Ocean Springs was spared by Katrina. We left Ocean Springs and went to the Ohr-Okeefe Museum. We viewed the George Ohr and Andy Warhol exhibits. We went back to Ocean Springs to eat at the Phoenicia Gourmet. I had beef kabobs and baklava.

This morning, we headed back home. We were lucky to have great weather while we were there.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

This is what all of the fuss is about. These are the 130 year old live oak trees.
Have a good weekend.

Thursday, 17 February 2011

This is the mug shot of the man that poisoned the two 130 year old live oak trees at the entrance of Auburn University's campus, more commonly known as Toomer's Corner. That horrible act has outraged the entire state. I, along with most Auburn fans have spent many times at these trees celebrating victories. I know people are thinking that it is just two trees. These trees represent a tradition shared by generations of Auburn fans. Not only did he poison the trees, but he also poisoned other plants in the area. The poison will remain in the soil for about 5 years. During that time, there is a possibility that the water system can be threatened. What makes it so bad is that this guy is proud of his actions. He confessed his actions to a sports radio talk show announcer. What a smart guy. This has been all that anyone has talked about today. I hope this guy gets what he deserves.
I hope everyone has a great Friday.

I hope everyone is enjoying nice weather. We have been having great weather here in Alabama. The temperature has been in the upper 60's and from what I've read, it will be in the 60's for another week or so. I'm not going to get too comfortable with it, because I realize that we are due for a couple of more rounds of cold weather.

I plan on going to coastal Mississippi for the long weekend. I hope to do some preppy shopping while I am there. I will report back on my finds. From what I understand, Ocean Springs is suppose to have a lot of cute little shops. I'm looking forward to checking them out. There are some outlets in Gulfport. I'm sure that I will do some outlet shopping. Besides shopping I plan on going to Beauvoir, Jefferson Davis' former home, Ohr-O'Keefe Museum and then cruising Beach Blvd. I may even try my luck at a casino or two.

When I get back, I am going to have to get my ducks in a row to start a new weight loss program. I think I am going to try South Beach. I always have good luck with that plan. I also plan on exercising to Jack Lalanne. His exercise shows can be watched online. I hope I have good luck. I am really motivated.

I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!

Saturday, 12 February 2011

I've been bad again about posting. I am going to try to do better. Not much has happened.

Wednesday, we had snow...again. It was not enough to cause travel problems. Tomorrow, the temperature is supposed to be close to 60. As a matter of fact, it is supposed to be in the 60's all week. Everyone is excited about the warm weather.

I am not going to bore you with what I wore for the past few days, but I kept up with my classic attire. Tomorrow, I'm going to wear my black wool skirt and my burgandy Brooks Brothers twin set...with my pearls, of course.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

I didn't realize that I haven't posted since Thursday.

I had a busy weekend. I helped my mother prepare letters, mailing labels, etc. for a trip to Mt. Rushmore. Every year, he high school class goes on a fun trip. The man that always organizes it has been extremely ill. My mother was voluntold to organize the trip. I told her that I would help.

Saturday, we went to Huntsville. We got a lot accomplished while there.

Sunday, my brother-in-law had to go to a funeral, my sister had the flu and we had to babysit three of their foster children. They are 5, 3 and 16 months. The 16 month old and the 5 year old were well behaved. The 3 year old was hell on wheels. Every time we would tell him not to do something, he would turn around and do exactly what we told him not to. My mother cooked a good lunch. The 3 year old would not eat. My mother made him sit at the table until he ate. He sat there for two hours. My sister's 18 year old called and talked to him. I don't know what exactly he said, but the 3 year old got in his chair and started eating. We breathed a sigh of relief when they went home.

What did I wear today? I wore a black Austin Reed skirt, a Brooks Brothers burgundy twin set, pearls and gold hoop earrings. Tomorrow, I'm going to wear Talbot's black corduroy pants, Lauren by Ralph Lauren lavender OCBD, and a Lauren by Ralph Lauren purple wool cable knit crewneck sweater.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Thursday, 3 February 2011

What a crazy weather day! It was supposed to be in the mid to upper 30's with a little bit of drizzle. It was 28 when I got to work. Four hours later it had made it to 30. About 1:15, it was snowing extremely hard. First Avenue, North, I-65 and US 280 were all starting to ice. Businesses decided to close at 3:00. It stopped snowing at 2:30 and by 2:45, every route from downtown was a parking lot. I decided to go a back street through UAB. At first I thought it was a mistake, but it was moving faster than any other route. I finally got on 280. Traffic was fairly light for most of the way home. It took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to travel 12 miles. An hour and 15 minutes was spent going the first 3 miles of my trip. About 3:30, the snow and sleet turned to rain. When I got home, my stoop was slushy. Tonight we are suppose to have freezing rain and sleet. It is supposed to warm up to the upper 40's over the weekend. I realize that this is not near as bad as what the folks up North are experiencing. The main problem was everyone getting off work at 3:00. It was like everyone was evacuating. When I left work, I could hear the tornado sirens. I haven't figured out what that was. Who knows. I felt like I was in the middle of an air raid.

Of all days, I wore a skirt. I wore my Austin Reed navy wool skirt, a Brooks Brothers light blue and navy on white tattersall blouse, a Brooks Brothers light blue merino wool cardigan, pearls and pearl earrings. Tomorrow, I'm going to wear Talbot's navy corduroy pants, Brooks Brothers light blue OCBD, J Crew kelly green cable knit crewneck, pearls, small gold heart pendant and RL gold tone earrings.

I hope everyone has a good Friday. Be careful in the bad weather.

Wednesday, 2 February 2011

Yesterday, I woke up with a slight headache. I ate some crackers and took some aspirin. In no time, it was gone. About 9:15, it came back, worse than before. I figured that it was sinus and took a sinus pill. I was on a conference call/webinar during this. I.think.I.fell.asleep. I don't know how long I was out. That also lets you know how exciting the call was.

I wore LL Bean navy bayside twill pants, LL Bean light blue mock, LL Bean green fair isle cardigan, pearls and Lovell Designs gold scallop shell earrings.

Today, I am wearing Talbot's black corduroy pants, Talbot's medium gray mock cotton sweater, and silver jewelry.

I hope everyone has a great day. If you have to get out in the bad weather, please be careful.
