The excitement of the death of Osama Bin Laden has overshadowed the news of the tornadoes. The news about the victims just keeps getting grimmer.
I have already donated bottled water and plan on donating food to the food bank at work. I feel as if I need to volunteer, but I would only be in the way.
My mother has been without power since Wednesday evening. Friday night my sister met me halfway and brought her down to stay with me. We had a nice visit. We went shopping and ran errands on Saturday. We had lunch at Edgar's Bakery. We both had the chicken salad plate. We came home and watched the recording of the Royal Wedding. We both enjoyed it. Sunday, we rode to Bessemer to have lunch at the Bright Star. Afterwards, we just sat around and relaxed.
Today, my mother stayed here while I went to work. She found out that the power came back on at her house yesterday. She was eager to get back home. I left work early and met my sister halfway. On the way up there all of a sudden we both started crying. I think we had been putting on a brave face about the past few days and finally had to let it out. We discussed how thankful we were that we were only mildly inconvenienced by the storms. So many people have lost everything.
Until next time.....

Stopping in to catch up...Lord have mercy I'm so behind! Yes, the tornado victims didn't get as much coverage as they should have, due to the Royal Wedding and Osama's death. My prayers will still be with those people in the areas hit by the storms.
